Gail is a Consultant, Facilitator, Coach and Speaker focused specifically on Agile HR in the IT world.
Gail is an IT person by Profession with over 30 years experience in the IT industry as a Programmer, System Designer and Business Analyst specialising in Financial systems and Business Intelligence. For the past 15 years she has been at the confluence of IT and HR providing client organizations with the necessary expertise for effective IT Human Capital Management. This enables Gail to bring unique and in-depth understanding to the specific problems and opportunities that lie between IT and HR, especially in an environment of digital transformation and the “New World of Work”.
Gail established and drove the IT Standards Generating Body for a period of 8 years which lead to the development of a full range of people development standards for the IT industry.
In 2006 Gail designed and built the ITJobCompiler™, an online system that contains role and competency content for close to 550 roles and over 1000 evidence-based competencies appropriate to the IT industry. A number of organisations have subscribed to ITJobCompiler™ since its inception. Having good accurate role information is invaluable for Agile HR.
Gail has been involved in major HR/IT projects in both the private and public sector in South Africa
and other African countries shaping and delivering the overall IT Human Capital Strategy in the specific areas of: IT Human Capital Strategy; IT Organization Design; IT Career and Competency Management; IT Performance Management.
Gail has developed a number of programs aimed specifically at assisting both IT Management and IT HR Business Partners with IT Human Capital Strategy, Performance Management and IT Workforce and Succession Planning in hhe New World of Work. These programs include Facilitated Workshops and Accountability
Coaching to ensure that the Action Plans developed at the workshops are implemented as planned so that the client realises return on the investment.
Gail has been invited to present and conduct workshops at conferences for oganizations such as Africa CIO, Gartner, PECS and IITPSA on different aspects of IT Human Capital Management and has been part of the South Africa delegation and presented at 2 G7 conferences – Information Society and Global Knowledge.
Gail is a Professional Member and Fellow of the IITPSA (Institute of IT Professionals), a Professional Member of ACM (American Computer Machinery), a member of SHRM (Society for Human Resource
Management – USA), a member of ICF (International Coach Federation), and an Associate Member of PSASA (Public Speakers Association of SA).
